I just made a map. The map has a nice theme, and its design goes along with its theme. Anyone want to take a look and tell me what they think? And if they think the map needs more? The tileset is an original combination (as well as some of the tiles being original themselves.)
The map is 2 starships from Star Trek. The ships both have been caught in a highly radioactive asteroid field. Mini RC ships are being controlled by the Federation (freq 0) and Klingons (freq 1) to take over the bridges of both these ships. It is basically a turf map with some cool low-sized animated LVZ graphics which I integrated into the design on the map to spice it up a bit (i definitely did NOT overdo it), and two controller bots. There are also some other goodies which I came up with but I don't want to completely spoil the surprise.

Hey, I'm probably banned, never really checked.
If I ever feel like downloading Continuum again I might "stop by", although they'd easily ban all places I "stop by" at. |

oh yeah.. sorry for another rapid post, but anyway.. back to the topic.. let me know what you think of the map for the purpose I originally stated..
Solo, why don't you play anymore? Personally, I find creating zones a bit more interesting because there is always something new to learn. My next project is either going to be downloading c++ and dusting off my old book and trying to dissect some bots, or figuring out how to use asss. |

Your map's great.
I'm sure there were some different stories about why I quit.
My own story is the only true one, but since it's pretty long I'll just PM it to you as soon as I removed most of the dust on my room.
What I liked about Continuum was learning things. I learned about C, C++, (My)SQL, PHP etc. with help from people on the staff I was in.
But there are some other things which I didn't like about the game, like how much time it stole from me and of course the power freaks on it etc.
Download Dev-C++, (you cannot download c++, since it's a language). |

I've always found maps with outlines of space ships...especially recognizable ones...well, kind of silly. |

Two bases will be enough for the time being i think, just because the population won't be big if I decide to get it hosted. I chose a Klingon ship instead of a Romulan ship cuz more people are familiar with Klingons. We've already played in the zone for a bit.. it is very difficult to hold off both bases.. at least when it is 3 vs 3. |

Looking at the ship on the right, depending on the settings of course, it may be hard to enter that base since both entrances are narrow tubes. I suggest adding holes in convenient places so you can kill anyone line bombing it.
Also perhaps make the ships face each other, or some way to make both entrances accessable in such a way that the defenders can't just see you flying to the far entrance and move themselves to block you accordingly. |
