 |
|
|
|
I can't get ASSS to connect to my MySQL server.
When I start it the log says:
I <mysql> connecting to mysql db on localhost, user asss, db asss
W <mysql> connect failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (111) |
I'm sure MySQL is running.
I checked wiith ps ax and I can connect to it via mysql-command line and phpmyadmin, as well as some websites use it.
Here's my modules.conf
;; db stuff:
database:mysql
;database:aliasdb |
And my global.conf
[mysql]
hostname=localhost
user=asss
password=xxx
database=asss |
username and password, as well as the database are correct.
Is it a bug, is mysql disabled or did I forget something?

I think you forgot something, check in /etc/mysql/my.cnf if the socket is actually set to /tmp/mysql.sock.
On Unix/Linux there are two different ways to connect to the mysqld, by using networking and by using a socket and obviously your version of ASSS uses a socket.
Although, when I was using ASSS I think it used networking.
Make sure
Quote: | [client]
socket = /tmp/mysql.sock |
and
Quote: | [mysqld]
socket = /tmp/mysql.sock |
in /etc/mysql/my.cnf.
Or, if possible, set ASSS's socket attempt to the value found in the /etc/mysql/my.cnf.
Edit: Oops, it's not /etc/my.cnf, but /etc/mysql/my.cnf indeed.

Oh yeah, it's /etc/mysql/my.cnf, updated in previous post.
Okay, I think this should be the correct version (my changes are bold and blue, as you can see I commented your versions of the settings).
