How does optional lvz work? For example if I watnted the optional lvz to be +optional.lvz, I would place that name in server.cfg, and upload in a priv arena so players can download it if they want to. Is that how it works or does it have to be downloadable online? |

If works like any other other lvz; you list it in Misc:LevelFiles. If the player has Options/Other/Use-Optional-Level-Graphics-And-Sound enabled, they will download it. _________________ 4,691 irradiated haggis! |

Yeah, and doesn't Continuum come with the Options/Other/Use-Optional-Level-Graphics-And-Sound already enabled by default? So then the people who come to 12345's zone have to be instructed to disable the Optional GFX & SFX for the lvz to be skipped, right? |

The lvz files you have on your server will be downloaded by players if they have them enabled, if they don't have them enabled they won't download them. |

Also, if you want the .lvz to be in another arena like ?go download, you have to put the +optional.lvz in the download.cfg file. Just *getfile download.cfg and add +optional.lvz in the Misc:LevelFiles section. |

Right.
By the way, why isn't my proxy filtering your ugly big-ass signature image?
Meh, I hope MGB tells you to make it smaller or to remove it.
Otherwise I'll make my own filter rule! |

I'm not sure if there's a rule but MGB has told people to remove a signature or to make it smaller.
Mine GO BOOM wrote: | Well, 'I<', if you don't edit your signature to be smaller, I'll have to edit it for you. I try to keep the non-Trash Talk forums clean, and huge signatures are problematic. If you were the type of person who only used their signatures once in a thread, it wouldn't be a problem, but you keep it on for every post, which wastes screen space in Question threads. |

123whatever, you know not to NAME the lvz starting with a + right? The filename would be " optional.lvz " but youd but a + in front of it in the cfg to tell the client it was optional. Maybe thats not what you were saying but just making sure. |

If you only want it in ?go download, then you ONLY have to put +optional.lvz in the download.cfg. |

Or you can just have them download it from a website, or you could just tell them to enable optional LVZs temporarily. _________________ This help is informational only. BTW, is this chaos around Optional graphics and downloaded (zip) lvzs made clear somewhere? anywhere? forum, readme, .....
These are really frequently asked questions I guess. It's only a good move when dev cares about downloading times and when he's trying to offer as much options as possible to players. (some events simply doesn't work without lvz, but there could be zones where you could have players going for and those going against any lvz addons...) |
