Cant someone just make a plain map editor like SSME with all of the bugs fixed.. dont like that new Java one.. and half of its features arent needed, just want a plain little editor like SSME..
But in SSME theres bugs, u select too big of an area and then Cut/Paste or Copy... and it crashes SSME..
But nobody has SRC of SSME i guess? :( _________________ Known as DeadlySoldier!! in-game..

You don't like the java one, I suppose to difficult to setup. You don't like SSME cause it isn't perfect. At some point you need to come to gribs that things, program especially, normally have imperfections.
I suggest you start learning to code, and write it yourself. There is plenty of documention on lvl formats and for any language you seek to create an editor in.
Plus you always have this board to ask your questions on.
On 2nd thought, take the code from the java editor and port it to C# since they are so similar. Then you'll have a great basis to finish off a SSME style editor. |

I personally don't like the Java one just because it's a resource hog (and therefore slow). _________________ This help is informational only. I've pasted like 3/4 or more of map to another map, and never had any problems. Have you tried reinstalling? Maybe you have corrupt files...

Ive never had really any issues w/ SSME, cept when you delete a section, it actually gets put into the copy/paste, if I'm thinking correctly... and there was another thing, that occasionally crashed it.. _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

No, just runs really slow.. like i use magnify glass, click, and like a sec later it zooms (slow)
SSME is perfect except for a few little bugs, it runs fast, it has everything needed to make a map in it, tile editors are nice in map editors but not needed, same with lvz editors...
But nobody will do it and I wont be able to learn to do it so.. :( |

| Put it this way, I don't think anyone has the SSME, I could be wrong though; because if they did have it, I'm sure it would have been modified by now... :/ |

What are your system specs? The pc I run SSME on (not the pc with my server/play CTM on), has only a 128 and a 64 ram chip in it, and it runs on a.... AMD ~455 processor. The only thing it slows down is the selecting option (only when it's greater than about 500x500 tiles large).
