How do i host a zone off my computer until i get myself a host?

It's red on the zone list, and people tell me they cant get in to it, also it says theres someone in it...weird

if it wasnt red then your zone would probally be a private zone

If it says there's someone already in it you probably made the biller and server ports the same, which is wrong.
