Ok, ive setup a basic zone and fowarded the ports on my router, the zone is coming up in the zones list but it is red (subgame2 doesnt come up with any connection attempts when i try to connect), ive tryed changing the [Billing]Ip to localhost but it doesnt work, if i add a custom zone and change the ip address to 127.0.0.1 it will come up in the zones list fine, i can connect and play fine, Does anyone know why i cant just add the zone from the directory server address list and play from there?
(sry if this is a really stupid question, or if the answer is in a sticky somewhere) |

| The list you get from the directory servers contains the IP you use at the internet, connections "to this IP" can only be made from outside your network, inside your network you'll have to use the private IPs, localhost (127.0.0.1) if it runs on the same system or if it runs on another computer in your network, the IP of that computer. |

I never had to add a custom zones for mine. I don't know why it's necessary for others. It shouldn't be if you have your router configured correctly. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. The directory server does not pick up your zone... most likely becuase of 3 possibilities.
1. Firewall blocking it
2. Router settup wrong
3. Server.ini [billing] directory servers not listed in there. |
