Okay, I feel like an idiot for having to ask, but I've no other choice.
I just downloaded the newest MERV core and followed all the instructions to get it up and running. The Bot works for the most part; it'll enter my test zone and will respond to !help, !cheater and wahtever else came with the rar file.
The trouble is that I can't seem to log into the damn thing. I've got myself down as a level 5 operator in the Operators.txt, and even matched that password up with the ones used in the Spawns.text as well. Obviously I'm missing something, but I can't find it. Any suggestions?
While I'm at it, what's the difference between the Bot's password and the Staff's password in the spawns.text? |

the bot's password is the password for the profile
bots must use nicknames created like any player would
the staff password is what gives the bot powers to do things |

Are you using a biller?
I don't think merv lets you login unless the biller is up _________________

Doesn't the biller have to be up to put the zone up in the first place? Either way, yes, both Subbill and Subgame2 are running, and still it won't respond to any /!login attempts |

Make sure the operators file is configured properly. Also, make sure that the file youre editing isnt within the rar, thats been a problem before. Try removing the password from your name, so it reads "5:Guest:" Then !login will work, (even though you are logged in automatically with no password) |

Oh wow... I found the problem... and it was something stupid. There was a hyphen in my name on the Operators.txt. So used to seeing it that way I forgot my SS name had a space in it instead.
I should have looked harder... Sorry to waste your time |
