Quote: | once all that's done, run buildlevel.exe - when it opens up a browse dialog, find and select your .ini
this should create a .lvz file of the name specified in outfile= in the same directory [if it doesn't, something is amiss - post about it]
|
I was trying to open my .ini file with buildlevel.exe, but when i select my .ini file, it says that it "can not open bombs.bmp" In my bombs.bmp file, I have..
outfile=blahblah.lvz
file=bombs.bmp
I don't know what is happening.. I'm sorry to ask, I tried everything I could think of. |

Are the ini and file in the same directory?
Try using '.bm2' not bmp. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. User assumes all risk of use. Cyan~Fire assumes no responsibility for any loss or delay resulting from such use.

When you say "directory" I take it you mean a folder? Right?.. and I tried using both, .bm2 and .bmp. |

same folder - don't bother using .bm2 (only important with a very few image files) - use .bmp, .gif, .jpg or .png (bestish)
and of course make sure both filenames (listed in .ini AND that actual name of the file) are IDENTICAL |

Ok, my .ini and .bmp are in the same folder, (server folder), and the file name in the .ini is the same as the .bmp that's in the folder. I tried to open my .lvz using buildlevel.exe, but it says, "unable to open myfile.bmp". The only thing that I personally see a problem with that makes it unable to work is the .ini renaming itself .ink. I don't know if this has something to do with it, but even if I manually type in .ini it changes it to .ink. Weird. |

It may not be able to open the file if another program is using it at the same time, fx: MSPaint. I actually got the same error as you the other day, but can't remember how I fixed it or why it happened... |

Are use sure its .ink, not .lnk? Because .lnk is the ultra-hidden Windows shortcut extension. You sure what you're pointing to is the actual file, not a link? |

I was using .png files and drag'n'drop gave me the error message, but running BuildLevel and selecting the .ini worked. The lvz script file doesn't have to end in .ini. |

cya, it IS .Ink, sry for not paying attention to that hehe.. anyway, no matter how I format the .Ink file, (even renaming it .ini) it still changes itself back. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work?.. or do I need to just forget it? hehe |

I believe the fastest way to resolve this would be for you to open up NOTEPAD, type in your information and SAVE AS (from notepad) into the directory necessary as "whatever.ini"
if that IS what you did, then just type the information into a post and I (or someone else) will create the .lvz for you while you figure out wtf is going on
[please let us know if you did it as specified above or not] |

yep, that's what I did.. I just tried it again to, and got the same thing. Anyway,what i need is..
outfile=Kill Time Pub.lvz
file=bomb.bmp
My only concern is that I may have to have someone make me another .lvz, because I have more updating to do, I'm only doing this to test it. I appreciate your help though Akai |

One prob: I don't think it supports spaces in lvz names. |
