Allright, before anyone blows up at me saying 'this is a newb statement.' I don't mean allowing players the ablitie to edit the server.ini files, but an update that will allow the players to buy stat modifications that will be saved to a file for each designated player. Now, this is something that would be hell for a large zone like Trench, but for a zone like star wars realm with 30-50 players at anytime. Now I don't mean permenant mod's but a time setting of the sysop's choosing. Didn't take long to plan this out as i typed it, so it looks clumped up. But, this could be an interesting add in for events/arenas held in the zone that must be applied for to enter.

Actually, that wouldn't be hard to add. You just have to disable the current module that deals with the settings packets, or edit your version of the module. As long as you only do the ship stats, such as ones that appear in ?status and the left items, you'll be fine. If you play with damage values, people will get a bit weird reactions (though, you could do that for armor value).

Just make sure you disable the security stuff for settings checksums, as it uses the default settings.

Hmm.. i'm like this idea a lot more, i might run up a hack for it. Can do real RPGs, where your ship can get slowly better over time. So instead of having to always green for things, you can actually start with better stats, and have higher max values. Though you should reset these for people every so often, otherwise newbies would be so far behind, it wouldn't be funny.
