Hello again! Lvl question this time.
My zone map is going to consist of continents for ships to maneuver around. These continents will be map images, but I need for them to have a tile border so they will be visible on radar. Some of the outlines will be normal bounce off ones, while others will ?fly over? so the ships can pass over them. If anyone?s been in the Deep Space 9 zone, it?s kinda like that.
My question is what would be the best way to approach this? I?m reluctant to make the images just yet because I have nothing to compare the islands to with the ships and map as they are. |

Maybe use FACTS or ?savemap to generate a .bmp of the map. Then crop it to a single continent, then blow it up by 1600% (or 400%, and then 400% again if your software doesn't like 1600). Now you should have a rough idea of the shape and size for the continent .lvz overlays. |

Smong just gave me an idea... I could take the map picture I used to draw the lvl and blow that up to get the actual continent images instead. It would give me exact spacing too...
But the porblem of tile outlining still remains. I think if I isolate each continent, and get a temporary grid down on it, I can mark off where what tile needs to go. From that, I can eyeball it on to the top corner in SSME, and cut & paste it where I want it.
Using that method, all I need to know is how many pixles make up a grid box in SSME so I can make one over the map image in progress. Anyone know off hand? |
