no i keep it tight and secure
Quote: | From what I've gotten from those that saw the warnings and the person who banned you, while in the subarena elim in Trench Wars, you ran over a green and got the proximity (prox for short) prize. This causes your bombs to explode near an enemy and not just through a direct hit. Almost all non-one-shot-kill zones use prox with their bombs.
Since it was greened, your client sends out a "I just picked up a proximity green" packet to the server. It normally would forward to others, saying that prize was picked up (and in some zones, your teammates would also get the prize). But in this case, the zone saw that the setting to get a proximity green is disabled. Which means that no prizes should ever be that one. So it sends out a sysop warning to all online staff members saying "this guy is probably cheating, he just got a prize that is impossible to green." Staff sees that, and bans you. |
Another good data and explanation. i really wish my long awaited bang dispute form could have been so awesome and informative. all i got was a one sentece we are right explanation.
Yet
Why is this happening to me????? |
Quote: | The only accidental way I see for this happening is if you happened to lose a specific packet when entering the arena, and before that packet could be resent, you ran over a green. But, you'd need to be entering from a different subarena that did allow prox bombs. From what I gathered, there are not that many in Trench Wars as it is. This is techinically possible, but with you on dial-up, even under heavy lag, you would only have a one second window at most to do this. And to lose a specific packet, to come from a rare subarena that allows prox bombs, all while an elimination event is not currently running, is rare, but possible. |
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you know any prox-subarenas could you tell me and i will say if i have ever played in one. i will list some subs i played too. |

as far as cpu, i have dual cpu and hyperthreading/ multithreading. i would be running winamp and continuum at same time and it still ran
.
Even if it is not able to be humanly found or something, there must be a reason for error here. Finding it is my only way to get back in

The posting is fine. Though, if you are adding more to the thread, it is generally nicer to edit your last post if no one else has posted yet, so instead of two posts in a row, it is just one larger one.
As for finding a way.. I'm sorry, but all the information found now is pointing to you picking up a prize that you should not have. The best you can do is ask to have it lowered, such as to the minimum 90 day ban, as it is your first offense. I have no authority for dealing with network bans or local bans. |

I have added to my appeal how fellow continuum players have helped me, our analysis leads only to a rare event, that it was unintentional and a first offence, i am honest, and that it should be lowered. a miniumum of 90 days.
---------------------
Thank you for your help, i was glad to know what happened and how things work. And I hope that the appeal will be reviewed (again) and all goes well.
If it is lowered for any reason at any time, I got to say I would owe it to you guys. hopefully all will turn out well
regards,

watch it be something silly like a mod was changing the settings and turned off prox, but you picked it up before the greens recycled, thus picking one up from the earlier settings. _________________ SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client |

Just to make one point i think, greening prox in TW does not really give you any advantage...only 3 ships have bombs...I think you should make the point if you were trying to cheat you would have greened super or shields.
Its possible there are still bugs in the continuum code. _________________ Rediscover online gaming. Get Subspace | STF The future...prehaps |

Well i think the person who banned me was rudy? and bang op who's talking with me there's only two bang ops, SVS and kewlair. As you might imagine the ban form is really slow and it took 1 week to get my first reply |

Rudy is the name of the person who applied the ban, or at least made it for the network ban. SVS is the network ban administrator, as it he is the one that governs other's bans to make sure they don't ban someone for no reason.
Think of it like getting a police ticket for speeding. You can't really argue directly with the officer, you instead go to a judge (in this case, SVS) and argue your case there. The police generally apply the largest ticket possible, and the judge chooses to lower the ticket.
If you check out Trench War's website, they might have something to be able to contact someone in there about your ban, or to be able to contact Rudy yourself. |

Well, I'm at a loss as to how you managed to do it without any knowledge you'd done it. That was the first such illegal prox green error I'd ever seen the server spew out in all my time staffing. Several other highmods and smods witnessed it and I pretty much kicked you out instantly once being in elim could not account for a proximity prize.
Rather than endure the pain of SVS further busting my chops over this, I suppose it can be swept under the carpet. Usually those who have been caught with their pants around their ankles fucking with the client aren't so brash about arguing the point, rather than trying to minimise their enforced vacation from the game. I suppose I'm just supposed to chalk this one up as another X-file case.
If it is to be removed, it doesn't necessarily mean I want be watching you while you sleep. I don't trust any cunt when it comes to these matters, having been duped on more than one occasion by shady characters.
regards
Rudy |

End good all good
It seems like talking about netbans on a forum is more effective then the whole netban dispute ticket system imo. _________________
