Rarely do I post on these forums, but I have a question I'd like to direct to some people that can actually influence the outcome and/or know what I'm talking about.

As of now, who is in charge of/maintaining the current names Database? Are there any troubleshooting procedures in the works to right this horrible wrong?

I do feel that if a name has not been used for say....5 years. That it should be reset and up for grabs by the first person who realizes it. Even if we never get to that point, lets at least get a FUNCTIONING system in place where we can reclaim old names without the 6 month wait by filling out a ticket (Or Less if you know a billing op, [and i do]) and at least a command to change the ?lp for your name. I do believe this should also include squadnames as well. Instead of just bitching and not offering a solution, I would offer my services in any way needed that would be required to get some sort of working system in place. Lets not give people more reasons to leave this game that we all love. Thanks in advance for your attention/responses.

The resetting system is, as far as it is known, completely automated, and no one has any kind of power or access to change the current behavior. But as I said, names unused for 5 years ARE reset, unless they had a lot of usage.

there is currently something in place that removes a name every week based on stats like usage, squad, and other things, however names with 100+ hours of usage take a VERY long time to be reset.

yeah, i take a long time to post.
and ive been waiting for -years- to get a few of my old names back which i lost in a biller reset in '03, however, all of my names have 1000+ hours on them...
