Well, you should definitely update your Mervbot, as most plugins are designed for the later versions. Go to http://www.mervbot.com and either download "MERVBot Build 46", or SOS' "Build 48".
After you have unpacked all the files somewhere, look at each text file and figure out what they do. For example, in spawns.txt, that's where you give your bot a username and password. You can also select which plugins you want to be loaded. So for example, if you have the "alias" plugin on, once in-game you'll be able to use !alias <playername>.
Bot name : Bot password : Arena name : Plugin names : Staff password : Creation string | The above line is what you need to add & change to customize for your bot.
NameBot : password : 0 : alias, 8ball : myloginpassword : |
You may also download other pre-configured plugins and add them into your mervbot folder. You'll then have to add their names in spawns.txt (where it says "Plugin names" in the above^). So for example, after downloading the 8-ball plugin, you should add the name "8ball" to spawns.txt, and after you load the bot in your zone (which should be granted sysop access), you can then use the "!8ball <question>" command.
You'll also have to add your name into operators.txt, so that you can have full access to your own bot.
A good mervbot tutorial can be found here, which you can also look at to try and understand how to eventually edit and/or create your own plugins. |
