hm wierd $269.99 for a 2.5 ghz processor? maybe there is more to it but mine is 3.0 ghz and i saw exact same like 2 years ago for 70$ |

But now with the multi-core trend, these numbers don't mean much anymore... I'm guessing a good CPU is one that is efficient at making use of all its cores (or is that the motherboard's job?) _________________ (Insert a bunch of dead links here) |

Also different microarchitectures are more efficient with instructions per clock cycle, so they'll have the same clock speed but higher throughput. |
