Hello! Thank you for trying out Subspace / Continuum. It seems you are having problems updating the zone listing. In the "Directory Server Address List" textbox paste the following "sscentral.sscuservers.net sscentral.trenchwars.org" (without the quotes), and it should work. If you're still having trouble or have another question, feel free to ask. |

A more updated list would be:
warpath.hlrse.net dir.cz.sshq.net sscentral.sscuservers.net ssdir.playsubspace.com 74.52.122.58
If you prefer sscentral.sscuservers.net as your primary, just move that one to be in the first position; separate directory servers with a space. |

I don't think sscentral.trenchwars.org has ever worked (?)
I always refer to this list for directory servers.
L.C., can you add your known directory servers to it (use the report post button)? _________________

According to a traceroute, warpath.bluetoast.org = warpath.hlrse.net = 74.52.122.58 . While dir.cz.sshq.net was never added (or was removed) because of unreported downtimes, leading me to believe that no one maintained the directory server anymore. I would rather new players use reliable services than not. |

I'm going to see if I can launch a second directory server (or third even) on hlrse.net and bluetoast.org...
Hey what if there was a Subspace site dedicated to Directory servers.. For example -- subdir.com/net/org -- and it would have subdomain's prefixed as dirX.subdir.com/net/org, which would point to the IP of an existing directory server.
EDIT :: I'll do it!
Another idea would be to have "auto.ssdir.net," which would automatically select a working directory server... but I wouldn't know how to go about doing this. :X |

I guess you would have to write a small program that pings the known directory servers every x minutes and have it redirect zone list request packets to a working directory server. |

Or go for the cheap and nasty option and use round robin DNS |
