ok...
the billing server is connected to subgame 2 icon_smile.gif
i downloaded the level and i get a ping icon_biggrin.gif (10 to be exact) along with green text biggrin.gif
then i get a msg saying, "The zone is not connected with the central player database. You should use a diffrent password for this zone as your passwords may be exposed to zone staff. Do you still wish to log in using the current password?" icon_confused.gif and i click yes.
it loads for a while, and an error comes up saying, "Failed to connect to server. Check to make sure that the server is online (it should appear yellow or green in the zone list) and that you are currently connected to the internet. if problem persists, seek help at the tech support forums found at www.subspacehq.com" new_let_it_all_out.gif (the site in the quotes dont even exist by the way)

long message, but simple problem...

Minor correction -- Subgame2 is connected to the billing server.

Yeah. That's the message you get when your zone isn't connected to SSC's biller. I think if you set AskNewUser to 0 in your subbill.ini it will turn that message off.

You might want to consider installing my All-In-One Server Kit at http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/ServerKit-Full.exe. It's very easy to work with (and for an individual like you, you might just have to refer to documentations for certain things). All you have to do is install it and then launch the biller and the zone; in other words, by default installation, it's on-demand execution and use provides some convenience for those having trouble configuring their things. Beginners can reset their configurations to the default by extracting them from the executable (ServerKit-Full.exe can be opened with WinZIP/WinRAR).

Your server still appears online after that message, correct?

Do you see any errors or messages in your Subgame2 or Biller console?

which section?

and also, my antivirus has tagged your server kit as a trojan for some reason...
why do you advertise it so much?
it seems you have that in every other post you make.

Because beginners and most people are better off with it rather than having to go find, download, and configure everything themselves.

Do you disagree that an all-in-one, preconfigured, on-demand kit is convenient for all people?

EDIT :: Plus the fact that most of it has been cleaned up to look prettier, more appealing, and possibly more professional (not quite saying they aren't) than the original releases.

The thing about it not being connected to the central database is normal

However, if you're unable to connect to it... well it could be various things, have you checked your firewalls? Have you read some of the FAQ topics around here? Have you asked someone else if he could connect to your zone? (If you read the FAQs, you'll find some issue about you connecting to a zone hosted on your own computer... )

Kinda tired... but yeah...

And the serverkit-full thing was not tagged as a trojan by my antivirus (AVG), what are you using (whoever said that it was considered a virus... too lazy to check) ?

Just out of curiousity, why would he need to check his firewalls if he is hosting is zone and biller on localhost? sa_tongue.gif icon_smile.gif.

Latest version and database of NOD32 doesn't pickup my self-extractable installer either.

Maps -- you might want to consider using DCME over CLT (or at least try DCME and see if you think it'd be better for you in the long run). You can get DCME at http://dcme.sscentral.com/. Mapping is pretty simple. To begin, you should just make a few fool-around maps and try them out. To try out your maps, just put your maps in the same directory or folder as your subgame2.exe, connect to your zone, then type ?go NameOfMap (if you named your map testmap123.lvl, then you do ?go testmap123).

In your server.ini, if you change _bzw.lvl to one of your maps, be sure that your map exists in the directory of subgame2.exe first, or Subgame2 will open and close real fast.

For graphics and sound, you should start by learning how to make LVZ files that can store your custom graphics and sounds (and essentially, other people downloading them). You will need the LVZ Toolkit (which also comes with a tutorial or guide on how to do it), and you can get that at http://subspacedownloads.com/index.php?act=file&fid=175.

In case you want to find or use some applications to help you construct or modify LVZ archive files, I did I search: http://subspacedownloads.com/index.php?act=result&search=lvz&limit=50&highlight=1&cat=ALL&x=0&y=0

This is incorrect. My fault too. Don't set it to 0, or at least according to Cheese's section. It should be 1. :\

EDIT :: Actually it doesn't seem like AskNewUser even does anything. O_o
