No, it's exactly how he explained it. (there's even a tutorial somewhere how to do it)
In other news though, that one doesn't work in the 0.39 update. |

Mine GO BOOM wrote: | 4. As the protocol only allows you to send L0-L3 weapons, this is impossible. You can have L4 shrapnel, if you set your shrapnel level to 0 and have a shrapnel count as this is a bug in the client, but shooting a L0 weapon will not be interpreted by the clients. So, on your screen it maybe L4, but not to everyone else.
| I'm not sure about this, maybe you got it the wrong way round. The client can send L4 guns and bombs. It can also receive L4 shrap, however this is probably translated to L3 shrap since there is no L4 shrap graphic. _________________ ss news |

Ignore BD. He likes to throw out info that's dead wrong and pat himself on the back for enlightening everyone.
The issue sketter mentioned can happen without the use of CE, though it's incredibly rare. It makes for all sorts of problems if you're trying to actually play, though. _________________ There are 7 user(s) ignoring me right now. |

A guy on a different freq attached to me and he told me how he was doing it once. He said he was in spec and a ship at the same time so it didn't matter. It didn't say player attached or anything. Sounds a lot like spec to me.

Let me tello u how it "looked" from my end.
Both players were on different freqs.
All of a sudden "hacker" is hovering over "player".
Where ever the players moves, the hacker would stick with him, just like how merv does it.
Even to the player, he looks like he is on another freq.
Player shoots, no damage taken by the hacker.
Hacker shoots, players takes damage and dies.
I was led to believe this was done by changing to your opponents freq in CE.
Making it (to the hacker) on the same team, but to everyone else, your not.

Lag would cause them to send position packets right after yours. It would look like they were following you. |

Most bots that I've seen will send the exact same position/time and maybe speed as yours when they received. Thus that increases the jumpiness. If I recall correctly, Continuum will do the same for spec positions. |

I guess either way is possible. Does anyone know how to recreate this though? |
