Question 1:
i also run a directory server,
and im getting
---Downloading server list
...
Adding : CZ Cheese Zone
---Download complete
Adding : CZ Cheese Zone
---Update : CZ Cheese Zone
Adding : CZ Cheese Zone
---Update : CZ Cheese Zone
3 in a row
then as time goes by, i get
---Update : CZ Cheese Zone
---Update : CZ Cheese Zone
only my zone gets multiples.
and in the stats.txt, theres 3 entries, not 1.
(ip1) 1337 0 1 CZ Cheese Zone The new frontier zone. Now taking suggestions!
(ip2) 1337 0 1 CZ Cheese Zone The new frontier zone. Now taking suggestions!
(ip3) 1337 0 1 CZ Cheese Zone The new frontier zone. Now taking suggestions!
(ip1) is 127.0.0.1
(ip2) is ipconfig's IP Address
(ip3) is ipconfig's Autoconfiguration IP Address
how to fix?
Question 2:
i have jackpotbroadcast set > 0
how do i stop it from broadcasting when points go over in an ARENA and not my pub? _________________ SSC Distension Owner

im hoping to release a c++ versionof a directory server later this week.
you may want to give it a try. Its deisgned to be small (will be one .exe file) and work out the box with no configuration. |

I've come to the conclusion that c++ is a retarded language (or at least trying to code in C++ correctly (ie using all those std:: name space crap) is impossible), going to recode it in free-pascal |

using namespace std;
eliminates the need for std:: namespace/class-resolution operators, right? |

its mainly the lack of useful functions on the std members that annoys me. |

ive found the solution, to anyone that cares...
#1: the zone autosends 1 to the computer it is on, even if theres no entry in [directory]
i also had listings under
#2: dir.cz.sshq.net
#3: 192.168.x.x
#4: localhost
#5: 127.0.0.1
each of these yields a seperate zone entry in the directory, with a different ip.
this is bad, because most show up red to clients, while they all work on the zone computer, and 1 on the local network.
so the best course of action if you run a directory on the same computer as your zone is to have the one listing that gives your internet address.

I figured out the same, similar, or the solution a few days ago. I also noticed this problem, but that was months ago. What I did was enter in the server's internet IP and that solved the problem. I pinged "warpath.hlrse.net," grabbed the IP, and stuck the IP in the zone's server.ini -- and hazah, there I had it! Solved. |
