Ok I have 2 computers, comp 1 and 2.
comp 1 is the main and is attached to my wireless link sys G router.
Comp2 is secondary comp and attached to a USB wirless (G) adapter.
For somereason when uploading to RS comp 1 only uploads like a max of 16kb/s> and comp2 does 57kb/s why such the diffrence? What is making my comp1 upload speed so slow? |

Well, you have to think, comp 1 is uploading to both whatever you're normally uploading to, and to comp 2 via the USB wireless. Comp 2 only has to upload to comp 1, and comp 1 has to handle everything else. This is what confuses comp 2 into thinking it has better upload times, when in reality, it has worse.
A simple solution would be to change your network to a Token Ring. Here's a wiki on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Token_Ring . It's easy enough to get the cables to make the ring, but tokens are expensive. Lucky for you, there is a token inside your USB adapter. It should look something like this: http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/39085000/jpg/_39085969_subwaytoken203.jpg , unless you are from Europe, in which case it may look more like this: http://mv.lycaeum.org/Finnegan/GB_HCE.jpg . How you decide to get it out is up to you.
Once your cables are connected through your token, your computers will be able to share the task of uploading equally, effectively doubling your speed.

Ignore the guy above me, he is just trying to make a joke that is over most people's heads.
When you are uploading to "RS", how do you upload? And "RS" stands for what? When you say Computer 1 is connected to your router, do you mean via an ethernet cable? The hardware difference between the two computers, is one much newer and faster than the other? Does one computer have a lot of background processes, such as spyware or antivirus? |

RS stood for RapidShare.
Computer one is connected to a router, and is Wireless G, so its Computer to a router box basicly
Computer 2 wireless connects to computer one VIA wirles usb (g) adapter and this uploads alot faster then computer one.
I do have zone alarm PRO running, I did disable/closed out of it and the d/l didn't increase really. |

What do you mean by identity error? Is the hardware bad? |

Omg, no one has said that about me before. I'm not used to going over people's heads. :(
Anyway, I used that one once before on some British dude, and it worked so well, I thought I'd try it again.
The Nashville switch for Verizon Wireless has something kind of like a Token Ring for their network, except without any tokens. I forget the name, but they had 2 OC 192s(2 for redundancy, I heard that phrase a lot this summer) running around the building, above and below. The idea was that the lines could be completely severed at any one section and still work. It seemed kinda ridiculous to me. It was pretty cool, though. I mean, it's not often you get to use an OC192. >_> |
