On one occasion, I couldn't play basketball with my friends in our gym because our division three basketball team was using one of three basketball courts. On another occasion the lacrosse team was using a single straightaway of the track that goes around all the basketball courts, and they would not allow a soul in to use the rest of the gym. Now this doesn't just happen once or twice, but every time I want to play basketball, either the gym is closed (it closes after noon on Saturday so we can get a head start on the drug taking), or there's some crappy team nobody cares about, such as Badminton practicing on our basketball courts. I pay $40,000 a year to go to this school; I didn't come here to watch our volleyball team. I would, however, enjoy being able to use the courts once in a while.

Sports suck up tons of money that could be much better spent. For example, as nice as it is to have a football field in the middle of campus, the average student would benefit more with a large parking lot that would cut 10 minutes off their walk to class every day. I've watched one football game on that field, and although it was good game with three feet of snow on the ground while there was a blizzard, there have been occasions when I have to walk to class in similar blizzards. Parking 10 minutes closer in those countless situations outweighs our division three championship. And it's not like they can't play, just why in the middle of fucking campus? They even put a fence around the field so we can't cross it as a shortcut to class.

Sports is free in my school. Then again, it's a high school.

At a Job

(where "you" represents taxpayers in your district, 50 points to whoever gets the reference)

There are also usually athletic boosters that contribute money, it has to come from somewhere.

Bak, you should go watch more football games.

BaK has a few points but.. come on.. 10 minutes of walking? LMAO.. don't complain. 10 minutes of walking is easy, and good for you. I can't drive in New York state as of yet but I don't have a problem with walking and hour to go from the Heights to see a girl all the way from 167th. Also, its best to play football in the snow. It feels better when you hit someone and you cant feel any pain in your hands or arms due to the cold making you numb. Anyway, you get hyped and heated.. so you don't really feel it.

The reason why so much money is put into sports is because it makes so much money. Would the college make more money from a parking lot or entry fees from a football season?

You're just saying that because he probably knows where you live. I'm willing to place good money he has followed you out of your home and taken pictures of you bumping into other people with briefcases and stupidly walking off with the wrong one.
