Me again.
I used MSPaint to shrink my energyfont.bm2 in 1/2, but it will not sit properly above the disp.bm2. It sits up and left of it's normal spot. (As would be expected since when you shrink the image that's where it goes in the file, shrinking the image but leaving the canvas size really messes it up also.) I think I had it correct one time years ago, but I can't remember how it's done.

Just use the normal size and fill the stuff that you don't need with black.

It doesn't work that way Purge+
Example:
----------------------------
|1234567890 |
| |
----------------------------
|
Is what you get when you shrink it and leave it black.
If I put it down where it should normally be:
------------------------------
| |
| 1234567890|
------------------------------
|
It's still splitting the file into gibberish.[/code]
Oh and I'm going to assume you're just telling me that because you're young it's in your blood to be mean but it's the only way you can express how much you love me, Quan.

Shrink each number seperately, keeping the same width/height per letter box, but shrinking the actual letter.
EDIT: Erm.. no that won't help, shrinking the .bm2 should work... nvm.. dunno _________________

In order to shrink and image as you want to I would scrap MSPAINT although you can shrink the canvas size in it too. Anyway, if you don't already have Photoshop or Fireworks, you can download a trial version of fireworks from www.macromedia.com and it is very simple to shrink the canvas besides just the image.
Anyway, here is how I would suggest you shrink the bm2 if your going to use paint.
Use the (IMAGE/ATTRIBUTES) menu, and that should shrink the whole thing not just the text.
Anyway, just a suggestion, but go with one of the other programs if you want it done quickly and easily. Or you can just send me the image and I'll shrink it for you. _________________ There is more to life than gain, and more to gain than life. ~ FJG

Thanks Komodo, but MSPaint is capable of that. All you have to do is press Ctrl+A to select all, and then click Image-> Sketch/Skew. From this you can put in a specific percentage of what you want the image to be (canvas not included, but you can easily resize). This however, as I stated before, will not work because I'm assuming that where the upperleft of the 50% energyfont.bm2 starts is where the client reads it from, so at normal size is starts in the same spot.

Yeah it won't, it will look like someone put space in between each letter. If it isn't clear enough what I mean, just ask, and I'll throw up some images.

No, it prints the small text, but up and left of where the numbers normally start (because on the regular size image, the smaller numbers were resized to the upper left by default, then the canvase was shrunk down to match the border...) I'm wondering why it isn't updating... I decided to use Maverick's idea and space them out with a regular size canvas, but it won't updated. I've checked and rechecked and but the INI and filename say energyfont.bmp.

then I doubt there's anything that can be done
for other things in the game you can resize the font and it will make the spacing less, the energy font coords must be hardcoded

Also this does work, the spacing of each digit is not hardcoded.

Yeah I renamed the image to energyfont so as to not overwrite another copy of the same gfx. What was I doing wrong to make it go up and left of where it should have been?
