Do you and/or shanky have any plans of upgrading to php5? If not, is there any way I can convince you to do so? |

I think they're running their sites off a shared dedicated webhost, so, would it even be possible to upgrade for them?
Why would you upgrade though, security? |

He didn't upgrade from this forum place so his site got hacked? Right.
Let's not discuss upgrading except if urgent, otherwise, let the choice be to whoever decides which of the installed software is to be updated. |

There's nothing wrong w/ continuing to use PHP4. PHP5 just is a major revamp of the Zend engine; with an addition of more OOP options. _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

Nothing to do with security.
-SQLite. Great for small things like script configuration so you dont have to bastardize the hdd when you could use a persistant sql connection, not to mention it guarantees a db will be available at all locations without needing to setup a custom db.
-Superior OOP model.
-Much faster than 4 (atleast, according to zend).
-Shanky hosts me at the moment, but I have php5 on my local server. I really dont want to downgrade to write scripts =) |
