Hi, I'm new to making zones, zone settings, bots, etc in them, and there's a couple of things I'd like to know
When I download a plugin, where do I extract it to and how do I install it so that I can use the features in the plugin with MERVBot?
Can I install as many plugins as I want into one MERVBot?
What are Spawns and what do they do?
I changed the settings in the following..
[Registration]
// Change these if the bot has trouble creating new accounts
Name=TestBot
Email=My@Email.com
State=???
Age=100
..and when I get the bot to enter the arena, it still comes up as Catid.bot. I've tried registering the bot name myself then letting the bot login with that name but I had no luck.

Hi.
First to change the name of the bot, edit the spawns.txt in the MervBot folder. Its explained as comments in the file.
A Spawn is one instance of the bot. You can have more than 1 bot running from just one terminal or MervBot Program.
To use a plugin, extract it and move all the files to the MervBot Folder. Then in spawns.txt add the Plugin Name to the spawn line. Its explaine more in the spawns.txt file.

N0b.
Extract the .dll file to the same directory as the MERVBot.exe file is in.
Spawns are shown as "players" in the game, one bot can run multiple spawns, maybe you remember from T3G I was running more bots at the same time, well, those were spawns which came from the same .exe file.
Just leave the settings you posted blank (they have no use for you), to configure a MERVBot spawn, well, read this thread.
OH GO AWAY COOKIETEAM, DON'T REPLY WHILE I'M TYPING. |
