When i hit Esc + C to view the settings in game, it just sends server.set to your continuum directory and wont show up in the game. How do you make it so it views server.cfg in the game, so you dont have to edit on notepad.
Thx

Hit ESC-C and it will let you edit the actul cfg.
i think .set is just for the information you see at the bottom (right?)

after you understand all the settings it becomes extremely easy to use this.. ?set warbird:initialspeed:1000

yes mine .. *getfile server.cfg would let me view it in a text file outside of
continuum. I'm talking about editing inside of continuum by esc + c. When i do Esc + C inside zone it says File Sending Server.set and sends it to my cont. directory and nothing shows up in the game.

Is the full file actually sent to your cont folder? If not, does your server have a template.sss file?

template.sss its a text file that contains descriptions and integer boundries (minimums and maximums) that are loaded to make sure that people know which settings do what and what they can be set equal to without breaking something. IT HAS NO EFFECT ON THE SERVER SETTINGS THEMSELVES!

You need to make sure that the folder where your zone is hosted contains the template.sss that can be found in the download section:
http://www.shanky.com/cgi-bin/ryan/download.cgi?template.sss

(use Save target as... if it loads it in the browser, k?)

im not sure how the in-client editor handles it, but chances are that a mismatch cant be a good thing, right?

remember: template.sss is a completely different thing than server.cfg, it DOESNT EFFECT WHAT HAPPENS IN THE GAME!

You aren't required to touch the template.sss at all. You don't even need to ever open it. Its there for the server to merge the .cfg into a .set when you do ESC+C, nothing more, nothing less.
