i have searched but haven't found an answer
How do you make a ship stop when you let go of the arrow keys?
i have seen it in some zones but can't figure it out, without using afterburners atleast

Try :

Initial Speed= 0
Maximum Speed= 3000

The only way is to use afterburners. (WarFan demonstrated how.)
