Id like ships to start with single bullets, buy multifire, and be upgraded to double barrel -- but the best ive done is set the multifire angle smaller, to approx 200.. but that still leaves a third bullet in the middle and conical ejection pattern

any ideas?

best you can do is have it go single fire to triple fire (in reality quadruple fire I think - but it will look like three straight lines)

or you can have someone create for you an elaborate bot

Can you explain what settings to change to get 'triple barrel'. I don't know what to do.

You need DoubleBarrel=1 and MultiFireAngle=0, that way the center bullet is actually two on top of each other.
