When ppl register names and dont use them after a long period of time do they get erased? Such as for exampel battle net. I dont think its does, which might be good for it to do so? dunno

If you use Catid's biller, yes. There is an option in the configuration for how long before the names are culled.
If you use subbill.exe, i have no idea . It has been a long time sence I have used it, so i dont know, and never checked. |

they ought to do a name reset tho. these userids are getting big. anyone made new alias and done ?userid recently?
twouldnt be that hard.
And yes, i know it leaves it open for ppl to register Mine GO BOOM, but simply add in a ?register command to the biller or something before the reset and have it back up all your crap in what would become the next player name file.
Weeds out the old names that ppl dont use nomore. I want 'slackware' or 'root' already. _________________ There are no stupid question, but there are many inquisitive idiots.

You do know that the SSC billing does reset unused names, just priitk's formula for picking which names and when to delete is pretty damn complex (read: gay), and is also to remain private.
Also a neat fact: If you create a new name now and do ?userid, that isn't how many names are used. Deleted names just remove them out, but that userid is now lost forever. New names don't fill in the spaces, they just add to the end. So its a good guess that only 25% of the current ?userid is how many names are currently used. |

hmm what do you all think, would it be good is lets say we had a account erase thingy that erase accounts after a certain period of time if not used (ex:6 months) ? Its seems it would make things less complicated and more "structured".

but the trick is to keep it somewhat random (or at least hard to guess) which/when accounts are deleted so that people don't try and steal names. |
