What happens if the client's map is modified? Could I mod a basing map so that there's a hole for me to get in and just go through the wall? What if the modified date on the map is hacked back to what it was before I modded it? Just curious.... =P |

I belive the client does a check using a hash and compares it to the one the server sends. This is how it knows to re-download maps. and you cant modify it after the zone has been entered, as it it loaded into memory. |

wow, that fast, huh? does that while on entering arena screen possibly...
actually, that makes sense because the map is always downloaded right after the entering arena screen is shown...
cool, I had been wondering. No offense to old-timers, but Cont. is definitely more secure than SS. Thumbs up for thoroughness + security.
the price of which is closed (read slow) development, but it's better than relying on bans only for security. |

Windows probaly wont let the file be deleted since it is use by another app.
Its like trying to view the log file that you are currenlty logging into. _________________ There are no stupid question, but there are many inquisitive idiots.

When you alter a map that your flying on (tiles only) you can veiw them while your in the game instantly.. If you change the map and try to save you wont be allowed. and if you delete it (if it allows it) you will be flying on black but still hit walls |
