Post subject: victoryl.wa2 length
Hey.
If I replace the victoryl.wa2 in my sounds directory with some custom music (which I converted to wa2 before) it starts playing and it's all fine.
Except: at some point, it breaks off and starts over. I figured the old (original) victory song is 14.76 seconds long and it loops.
Does my custom file have to be the same length to stop the breaking?

No, the wave file is fine. The reason it restarted is Continuum retriggered the victory music, either it be that the timer causing it was triggered, or the conditions to win changed (ie: flagger died, then the team killed that guy to get it back) to cause it to restart.

My personal victory music is 157 seconds long and plays fine.

This is not directly related to the topic but if I were to say change the victory music for a zone and have it longer say 50-60 sec can I shorten the download time by making the quality less or compressing the file? Otherwise it takes three times as long to download the zone files.

EDIT: Whats your personal victory, MGB?

Yes, decreasing the wav quality by compression will cause a smaller file size and ultimately a faster download. I'd recommend Audio Recorder Pro for doing this as it has multiple options for compression.

There's a very specific encoding that you need to have it at in order to play. I don't think there is much more you can shrink the file since I believe it has to be 8 bit and mono (possibly even 11kHz) to begin with.

Also, I've had full songs for my victoryl that I recall not playing all the way through before starting over. My current is a 58 second clip of Propellerheads ' On Her Majesty's Secret Service that loops fine.
