Post subject: The Battle of Helm's Deep! I need ships!

OK, I was really surprised to see that SS has no Lord of the Rings zones, and that nobody has ever really port forth any effort in making one. Being the Lord of the Rings fan, nerd, and geek I am, I created a map based on Helm's Deep, the castle where one of the biggest battles of the entire story took place. I have yet to work on the settings, and to tell you the truth, all I have at the moment is the map and background. I'm gonna need someone to make me a set of ships for the zone. The ships will have to resemble certain races from the movie trilogy. If anyone is interested, please talk to me. I'm also clueless on bots, so anyone willing to help with that would be greatly appreciated. If you want to help, reply here, and ill give you more info on what i want. Thanks alot in advance.

oh and bye the way... myplan for the settings is to try to mimick hand to hand combat, as well as archery while keeping it baclanced. just so you know.

You could use a turf setting bot for that. group that has the flag, owns Helm's Deep.

Bot wouldn't be too hard, I'd have to say the only hard thing would be the map. Uploading a lot of .lvz too would make it easier, but a big download file. Making the ships would be hard too.

I know someone who's already been developing a lord of the rings zone (Still are to my knowledge). So you've been beaten to the idea all ready.

Also this isn't a good place to ask for sprites and ships. Try a actual sprite website (there's 100's).

I am staying loyal to the person who first came up with the idea of making this zone. Why should i help yout zone which will just be competition to his?

Question one: Is this zone going to be published any time soon?
Question two: Could you give me a way to contact these people so I could offer my service and works?
Question three: Do you know how long it has been under development?

Put up a screenshot or something of the map, that way if it's good enough it will attract someone who can make ships.

I'm not giving away my friends plans to you or how long he has been working on it for. All i know is he's been working on it for a long time and has some VERY nice stuff coming along.

Go search google for "lord of the rings sprites" If you don't find any there try www.alltheweb.com or finally try and find "game maker community" in a search engine. That website helps people who needs things being made.

Though indeed, Helm's Deep was not as big as the battle of the Pelennor Fields, I'd say that Helm's Deep would fit better as a SubSpace zone.

I'd say lord of the rings would fit subspace better because people who don't know all the battles too well will get confused.

I'd say that it should have one location/ ''battle'' of middle earth in each arena, what would be the public one is yet to be discussed.

I should very much like to know if the zone is any close to completion one way or the other.
I'd be in debt of you if you could just give them the link to this post or mention the humble Iluvatar's love for Middle Earth and Valinor: The land beyond the seas where the Valar dwell (For you Lord of the Rings only fans: that's where Frodo, Bilbo, Gandalf and the elves are sailing to in the end of the film).

PS: I have some working ideas, animations and sounds that I could offer as well as my service.
