| The recycling is because settings were not designed to be changed when your playing. This is because sometimes security packets happen before some people get the updated settings, triggering off security errors. Also for conflicits between clients, say one got the damage setting changes a bit too late. Also, what should the client do if the ship's settings changed, just force a shipreset on them?
*Guessing Jeff's mind below* A sysop should know better, and can see the errors as they happen, so it won't recycle for them. But for arena owners, who may not even have mod, they didn't want to take that chance, so they force the recycle. *End guessing* The score saving is a bug. When the arena recycles, it forces everyone to save their scores. The bug part is when the arena recycles, it uses the same module checks as it does for main arena. But when you leave the arena, it does a different check than if you leave a public arena. So instead of saving to the local file, it instead updates the billing server scores like it would for a public arena recycle. |
