ASSS Custom Projects - <perl> ChatnetBouncer JoWie - Sun Mar 07, 2010 6:02 pm Post subject: <perl> ChatnetBouncer
This is a perl script I have been using for the past 2 years.
The basic idea is: You put this script on a server. Script keeps you logged into a chatnet capable zone. You connect to the script with a chatnet or irc client.
Has a bunch of nice features:
auto reconnects
away message + logging (away automatically turns on when you disconnect or are inactive)
permanent ignore
Allows connecting using IRC clients (I use mIRC, have not tried any others extensively)
private messages have their own window when using IRC
?chat messages can have their own window when using IRC (for example /join #irpg). Including player list
Breaks apart messages that are too long
Keeps ?obscene turned off
Automatically reconnect when biller is restored
/ISON support using ?find
IRC Notice support (this allows for DCC file sends, etc)
Tracks multiple fake player joins with the same nickname
Ignore support for Hyperspace's ?give, ?showmoney and ?showexp
IRC mode:
Spaces in nicknames are replaced by _. And _ is replaced by __.
To PM a player you can use :Subspace Nick:bla bla bla OR /msg irc_nick bla bla bla
The public chat is in a channel you auto join called &ChatNet. You can use ' for freq, ; for chat, etc.
When ignoring a player, use /bnc ignore subspace nick or /bnc ircignore irc_nickrootbear75 - Mon Mar 08, 2010 2:05 am Post subject:
I use this. It works excellently
EDIT:
I have L.C. hosting the scrpt on his machine, so i can just log in for a few hours a day, and still stay online 24/7
