General Questions - Server help Anonymous - Tue Nov 25, 2008 10:10 pm Post subject: Server help
Hello,
A friend of mine recently left a server with me. I?m familiar with computers overall, but I don?t know much about servers or networking yet.
It?s hooked up now, and I can use Firefox, for example, to browse the internet on it; so there?s not a problem with the connection. I have port 81 open on my router (since my host, Time-Warner, blocks 80), but when I try to access my server from the internet using the IP plus :81, I can?t do it.
When I type localhost into the browser in Firefox, it doesn?t work either ? so it?s definitely a problem with the server, not the network. It says ?Connection to localhost times out? however, rather than that it simply cannot be found. I can also run a Shoutcast server just fine.
Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Just in case you failed reading, this is a forum for server help concerning the 2d game SubSpace/Continuum. So you're better off asking such questions elsewhere.

I think 'Subspace/Continuum' should be larger than 'server' in the logo, lol
