Post subject: Continuum W/ WINE
Ok, I tried doing the quick instructions on getcontinuum.com on running Continuum on Linux with wine on a Kubuntu Gusty Os. When I try and run the shell, I get an error saying some of the files were not found in the /usr directory, I believe. Any help?

well, give some more iinformation about which files are missing & whatnot.

i also suggest patching wine source and compiling as it is much easier & you can stay up to date with wine releases

patch works with newest wine release 0.9.59 tested and works fine.

here's a tip for improving ALL of your frame rates out there...

wine regedit
goto hkcu (hkey current user)
software>wine>Direct3D
if there is no string value called "DirectDrawRenderer"
create one and toss in "opengl"

that should make a significant improvement
however depending on system may slow down over time & you may need some additional registry edits

this is because wine uses gdi as default for DDraw which is very reliable but slow.
using opengl is much faster improvement
even playable on my 450mhz Pentium 3 (hahahaha) at 1024x768x16
30 fps, but definitely playable icon_smile.gif

I have a few other tricks to improve speed but Im tired so bye

ill keep an eye on this thread if anyone is still emulating continuum besides me icon_smile.gif
