Post subject: localhost directory
i run a few zones, a biller, and a directory on the same machine.

when the zone sends an update to the dir server,
and the client downloads from the dir server, there are multiple listings.

there are:
192.168.1.* net card 1
192.168.1.* net card 2
192.168.1.* router
*.*.*.* real ip

how do i kill the extra entries?

Huh? Do you mean your zone is listed on the directory servers multiple times? Please be more clear.

He wants the directory server to ignore private ips.

So some of your zones are sending entries to your directory server across the LAN? Show us the [Directory] section of a server.ini, please.

OK, maybe I'm still not understanding you right. You are running multiple zones, a biller, and a directory server on one computer, correct?

The problem is that the directory server on this machine has entries for the zones using local IP addresses? Or what?

I do understand what is going on here, the question was also asked 2-3 times before and never resolved. I even saw these zones on the list once.

Anyway, what he's trying to say is he is running 1 zone, but when you go to download the zone list it shows up as several entries, each with a different IP. Some of the IPs are also local network ones, so anyone else trying to connect to those won't get very far.

I'm assuming you're using subgame, do you get the same problem using asss?

Also if you run your own dirserv locally does it still happen? If so it would be interesting to try doc flabby's python dirserv because then you can fiddle around with the code to try and find out what is happening.

running subgame2 and ddirserv

never even tried asss =S
or flabbys dir.

Try flabby's http://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?t=7590
At least this way you should be able to figure out if it's subgame or the dirserv.

Did you try binding the game server to listen on a single ip in the config? Then seeing if the directory only shows that.
