Any such exists?
Something like good ol' http://www.radmin.com/products/radmin/index.php but that's free.

Not talking about trial versions either.
So just to make it crystal clear: fully functional software without any expirations or time limits that caters a remote admin servicer and a remote control client.

Assuming a single remote client.

Windows XP+ comes with remote desktop built in.

Alternativly TightVNC is a good alternative.
http://www.tightvnc.com/

Linux supports multiusers out the box SSH, X-Windows forwarding etc etc.

More than one client on windows you looking at $$ Getting windows terminal server or something similar.

I've had TightVNC stalling going unresponsive if I have a large background and screen saver coming out of active mode. I have to manually restart the TightVNC server software for it to work again regardless of if I reduce color size, increase compression levels, low bandwidth mode, etc.

I think you need WindowsXP Professional for remote desktop to work.

The client can be used on all versions, but for the server you need the professional version.

One small detail I forgot to mention...
The zombie is a winXP, the master is a win98.
And the program we're going to attempt to remotely administer is going to run on DOS, most likely.

ssh on windows is probably enough for your needs if you are just going to be using dos.
http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/

Alternativly you could setup an insanly insecure link using netcat and command.com.

Then all you would have to do is telnet in to a port get a command prompt.

netcat? Can't you just enable the telnet service on the target machine? (must be Windows XP though)

If you are connecting from windows 98 to windows XP.

Just enable remote desktop on XP and download this for windows 98

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/tools/rdclientdl.mspx

it allowes windows 98 computers to remote desktop to 2000/XP+

If its the otherway (ie XP->Win98) use TightVNC or SSH

Just because your computer is in your home doesn't make it XP home edition.

You can 'use' remote desktop connection on any windows system, but the computer you connect to must be XP pro

XP home let remote desktop session's be sent out as a invitation. I don't think it gives the flexibility of XP professional.
