Would it be possible in as3 to make it generate random maps?

In theory not asking anyone to code this

Well, thats what i wanted UT to do, but for an alternative, invader-zim coded me a module that moved all of the players to the arena with the map, and disabled esc+a, to get out of the arena, except for staff. So thats something that is possible, i believe the module is in UT Project thread in asss custom projects.

You mean like a map generated by a mathematical formula, or something? I don't know how it's done, but Death+ had several maps like that up in SSCI Penis. I could show them to you if you want, but if you want the how-to, you'll have to talk to Death+.

Yes, it's possible in theory, and probably not hard to get a hacky change to do it.

Also, for the record, it's called ASSS, not as3.

Actually, it is very simple. There are tons of map-generation algorithms out there, from mazes to buildings.

The real key is what type of random maps you want. Race tracks? Mazes? Rooms/hallways? Floating bases? Bases connected with some tubes? Bases with random things placed randomly?

If you ever went into Paintball, Bak-'s zone, you'd know that it is possible/is done. He generated a new map after each game.

yeah, but it is just an abbreviation like how people say SS instead of subspace. Didn't know it mattered that much.

AS3 is fine to say. Why write out 18 to the power of 9? I know it's only one extra character but still. I hate leaving out an s. S is over used in our language anyways.

Grr someone just changed stupid to lazy. Ignore that top part I guess.

I read about another blacklisted word on here on a different website, that supposedly gets you auto-banned... I don't believe it, but I don't want to test it out, anyway. Besides not wanting to actually post the website here.

Those weren't randomly generated maps though... there was like 3 or 4 maps we cycled through. Although generated maps are still possible.

I forgot all about those guys. Yes, it will auto-ban some people, but anyone who already posted in this thread is already past the threshold so it won't autoban you. Give it a shot.

I'll probably remove that code soon enough. Just looking over their forums, they have not even released anything worth while yet, and are still pretty clueless on how the internet works. Only added the code into the forums to protect against spam, not people who just memory scan to cheat in a ten year old, 2D space game.

Well, Cerium, I've said it since then, so I know it's not gonna affect me.

Edit: come to think of it, I never actually did say it. I had a post with a couple of links to sshacks and I ended up not posting it because, after a 2 hour break from the computer, I came back and re-read my post, and it made me O_o. Seriously, I have no idea wtf I was saying. It makes me want to take 2 hour breaks before every post I make on here.

Or, were you referring to ID6? That better not be a banned word, no one even knows wtf it is.
