Maybe if there are tiles at the very center of the map, it will try spawning elsewhere
And that change can take a looonog time to update... try a ?recycle in the arena, and even then, it may still not be updated after... I remember testing greens spawn radius was a pain because of that.
Are greens spawning randomly too?

yeah they are.. it all seems to spawn just outside the actuall map randomly.. there are tiles in the middle.. I didn't realize that would mess up the spawn... are their any tiles I can use? it's not a spaceship tileset and would like to have as much ground tiles as possible.

Subgame apparently does some checking to avoid spawning the ball in an 'inaccessable' part of the map. I ran across this when I tried to have the ball spawn inside some closed doors, which would then open with a bot (to implement 'face-offs'). Try opening up the space in which you're trying to have the ball spawn (especially by removing any fly-over/under tiles, since they are unecessary).

yeah, nothing can spawn on fly over or fly under tiles
If you wish to have ground at that place without using tiles, you'll have to use lvz images

Maybe try making MinimumVirtual a bit larger. It might be an issue with it being too small and it just finds a random place for it.
ASSS allows better control over prize/flag/ball spawning, though.
Edit: Speeling

You might want to set UpgradeVirtual to 0 as well.
