Trash Talk - Milk can mean acne.

Post subject: Milk can mean acne.
I have been off regular milk for four days now. I have seen dramatic results. Milk actually caused me to have break outs. I used proactiv once but it didn't really help. I just kept wahsing my face regularlly and nothing seemed to help. My mom kept thinking it was an infection and gave me antibiotics but that didn't help. So I went off milk for four days and my face is clear. I still wash it regularlly.

I did some reading on google to be sure, milk actually does cause breakouts. Right now I'm drinking organic soy milk (SILK brand). It's actually not that bad.

I just thought I would help anyone else incase they are having the same issue. Hope this helps someone.

(Please don't flame. I did this to help others.)

It doesn't cause breakouts in EVERYONE. Some symptoms of being alergic to milk are like when your a baby and you spit up really bad when you drink milk. Another is wetting the bed. I would pee in my sleep (That happend until I was like 11). I couldn't control it. Seriously. But if you think you might be allergic to milk try staying off of it for a week and see if it helps.

Ya, you do know it's acting more as a placebo, and it has nothing to do with acid. If you looked in your proactive book, it strictly says's. Acme is only cause a small build up of a infection in the skin, and there is nothing much you can do about it. It's completely hereditary, and it your parents had it, you most likely will have it. The best thing you can do about it is lower you body's chemicals (the ones that are used to fight infections, which is what causes a pimple to puff) through diet, clean your pores more (less things to attack), and to stay exercised and out of the sun too long.

If your seeing a large change because you just changed your diet routine, then you rather don't see another change you did, or it's acting more as what I stated (a placebo).

If your breaking out because of milk, then that is more along the lines of a allergic reaction then acme. If you want to keep that down, then it's a good idea not to drink actual milk and honey too. But the main reason for this is because your immune system is slightly weak, so it's not a good idea to get away from these things, and you should help build your immune system up.

I'm never sick and I get my calcium and things from other stuff. My mom's stepdad was an alcoholic and beat my grandmother so and my mom had really bad acne then. She moved out when she was 16 and 2 weeks later her face was clear. That was probably because of stress. In my case I had the symptoms of a milk allergy.

I too have quit drinking regular milk, and have switched to the Silk Soy Milk, and I've also pretty much quit eating at fast-food resturants (i.e. McDonalds, Wendy's, ect). The grease from those foods is also another reason for breakouts. I used to eat fast-food all the time, so I quit eating those foods, and my face has cleared up tremendously. I might also add that I do NOT wash my face, and my face is pretty clean.

I just found out my great grandfather was HIGHLY allergic to it. He couldn't drink any milk. My cousion (who I don't know) had very bad breakouts and went off milk and cleared right up. It's genetics at play. Just a heads up.

Im lactostantolleranta. I can drink milk, and eat milk products, however, only a limit. I do not nor ever have liked drinking milk, including Soy Milk. I'd rather stick to Pop. icon_wink.gif

No food appears to have any effect on my face. Lucky me. icon_eek.gif
