Trash Talk - Small Business Investing

So, I'm trying to get a small business started, problem is this with all the income that will be needed to get it started, not to mention to carry it for a couple months in case it doesn't become a hit right off... I'm considering looking for a couple of Investors in my local area to help get it started.

Problem is this.. We'll need about $10,000 my Partners and I can probably get half that by October if we're lucky, and we need to start this well before that if we hope to make it for this season of paintball - Yeah, I know paintball is a all year sport, but if you really want to get the kids you have to start in the summer - Now between us the three of us have fourteen years experiance with paintball with twelve of that actually hosting and running private events and games. We've used just about every type of marker on the market, if we haven't used it we've atleast held it in our hands, hell its easier to count what guns we haven't used... I can go on a lot longer but we've got more experiance than most of the fields around here.

Now the question is this: If we look for people willing to invest into the business to help get it started, silent partners if you will, what could we do to make the offer look more appealing to them that won't end up ripping us off in the long run. Maybe, if we start smaller? Maybe with $5,000 as the initial investment, cut out the store for now and just set up an online store and a shop at the local flea market. Still, shoot for $5,000 starter fund and give those who invest a chance to make more money if we succeed or if we fail?

Basically!
If its successful:
250% return on initial investment; +5% of the profit (If they donate over $1,000.).
If it Fails:
150% Return on initial investment.

I mean, either way they're going to make money... Would it fly?

This looks like a scam to anyone's eyes, because you'd save money getting a loan from a bank than asking for investors. You don't happen to be playing paintball in Nigeria, are you?

I don't see any organization or business. Just some paintball players.
