Thats because you pick the ports. To connect to a zone, you don't need for forward anything. To have someone connect to your zone, you need to look at the server.ini file, under [Misc] there is a Port=##. You need to forward both that port and the port above that.
Example.
server.ini
[Misc]
Port=5000 |
On your router, you will have:
UDP Port 5000 to 192.168.0.100
UDP Port 5001 to 192.168.0.100 |
IP and such are whatever you need for your router. Some routers do port ranges, so you'd have 5000-5001 forwarded.

Hmm, I tried that:
server.ini
[Misc]
Port=7000 |
Router options: (Belkin port forwarding setup looks like this:
Enable Description Inbound port Type Private IP address
(tick) subgame2.exe 7000 ~ 7001 UDP 192.168.2.1
Private port
7000 ~ 7001
|
Still no luck.
I even tried turning DMZ on to see what would happen then, didn't port forward (Because you obviously don't need to) and it STILL didn't work.

You can't tell if port forwarding is working by looking at the ping/player count in cont. You need to get someone else to try and connect.
