General Questions - Setting up a zone Sanith - Fri Jan 20, 2006 9:56 am Post subject: Setting up a zone
Ok i've downloaded the server files and edited the server.ini and subbill.ini files as stated in the subspace downloads tutorial. Now i can log on to continuum and seemy zone on the list and it is green. However, i cannot log on to the zone. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

Change Arena Mode to something listed 1-5, Billing ip to Localhost... thats all I see so far
Also what does it say on the server window when you try to enter the zone?

That would not work due to the latest modifications done to the subgame.

ok ignore the stuff about the zone being green in the list it was the a fluke. Also i tryed setting the IP=localhost and changed Arena Mode to a one of the opitions and it didn't help. So i tryed adding the zone a custom w/ IP 127.0.01 and it tells me i don't have permission to play on my own zone ?! Another thing i have set up the server on a much faster computer now but it is hooked up to a wireless-router which is in turn hooked up to a DSL modem could someone please explain this "port forwarding" that everyone says you need for a situation like this.

You shouldn't mind anything cyan fire says as in 9 out of 10 times he hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
Anyway if I have the time I'll take a look over yr configs.
And here's a thread for dealing with port forwarding.

Did you set up your version1 folder correctly?
And you're ridiculous, Grav. I obviously help a lot more than you do with your continuous chimes about how good the good old days were.

You just throw there the subspace.exe.
Actualy, you throw there whatever client (version) you want to enforce people to use in your zone, it'll ask them to download it and patch it over their clients.
IE you can take continuum 0.38 or 0.39pr1 and rename it to subspace.exe then stick it in there.
