Hello,
Was curious if anyone know why I can't get a brick via a green and why it doesn't seem to ever appear along the other goodies (rep, burst, thor...) when I ship change around. I tried setting the Prize Weight for Bricks high and it still didn't work.... any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Bricks, super, shields, energy deplete, warp, and engine shutdown (both types) all are handled specially. None of these prizes are shared and none of these prizes can be gotten via mass greens. Mass greens count as starting bounty, *prize XX, or multiprizes. Thus, the only way to get bricks in your starting ship is to force it via the initial settings, such as what Muskrat has shown.
