LVZ/LVL Questions - Crash on Download.

Post subject: Crash on Download.
I modified my map recently. Now, however, whenever I try to log into my server, the download comes up to 15%, and then I get a Crash-To-Desktop for Continuum, with the error message "Unable to create zones\RiOT Derelict\_derelict.lvl" where RiOT Derelict is my zone, and _derelict.lvl is my main map. I didn't make any drastic changes, and the map opens perfectly fine in SSME.

I am concerned that the map is corrupted, since loading any other map file works fine. I tried making a new map file in SSME, and copying all the tiles from the old one to the new one and re-importing the tileset for a fresh file. Same error message. Still, I don't see why the map would be corrupted.

I'm using Catid's Biller and Subgame2 Server (Sorry, one look at the ASS Manual terrified me). Please help!

I've gotten similar errors before. I can't remember exactly what the cause was, but I believe it was Continuum unable to create the directory for the server. Check your zones folder to see if there's a folder called "RiOT Derelict" in it. If not, create it and try again. Then try renaming the map on the server. Lastly try renaming the zone (or just give it a different name when you do add custom zone). Hope this helps.

And it's the ASSS (A Small Subspace Server) manual.

In the first post it was referred to as the ASS manual, of which I'm not sure one exists. It would certainly be interesting at any rate

See if the map is already in your cont\zones\zonename folder, and delete it if it's already there.

I don't think it has something to do with your server or the map, it might well be that your own computer disallows the map to be saved.
When you run continuum in Run As... protected mode then you get such errors when downloaded maps get saved. Maybe other maps works fine because you have already downloaded them.

Make sure you aren't running in that Run As... protected mode and check in C:\Program Files\Continuum\Zones\RiOT Derelict\ if _derelict.lvl is not already there (then delete it - it might be the reason it can't be replaced) or rename it.

EDIT: ... as Smong already suggested

All these are only guesses though.

Yeah, that's what Maverick meant by 'Run As'.
