Is there anyway to create a ship so that when two collide they hit eachother not fly through and create damage or bounce off one another....thanks for your help

Would be pretty impossible to implement. Everyone would see different collisions on their screen, ships would be jumping all over the place.

thanks for the info, but is it known to be hardcoded into the game, is it out of the question OR is there a chance this could work with lag / skip

Well, it would be possible for the client to calculate collisions and bounce ships if a new setting was added (ie new Cont build). But those collisions would be different on everyone's screens, so ships would jump all over the place, making combat very frustrating. It would look like everyone has a bad network connection.
