Halo list of abuses:

#1 - 1 week ban for "advertising".

I will admit that I harassed the Mods a little, so I sort of deserved this. HOWEVER, they didn't even tell Agurus, the Owner, what happened.

That's because they specifically say in their Mod Protocol (Quote):

Advertising: this is something to be cracked down on.

#2 - 10,000 minute Zip (Do the math, roughly one week)

Ahem.. anyone say "No reason"?

I was never given any reason for this, other than "You're staff at War Era" (Halo's rival zone).

Let me compare this to a 3 day Zip for excessive spamming, swearing, and, I believe, minor slurs.

#3 -

Since then I have been continually zipped for no reason, never given a reason by Mods, and also told "You're staff at War Era".

I've been zipped straight through for 2 days now, and I currently have 1200-1400 minutes (Eh, I keep forgetting.) until I can talk again.

I'm just waiting...

Oh, yes, since I'm too lazy to go back and backspace that:

I was zipped for 1440 a few days ago, someone lifted my Zip, I was zipped yesterday afternoon, then this afternoon, right as my Zip ended.. SURPRISE, someone showed up, Zipped me, and was gone.

Yeah, it has been shut down for hacking up multiple Continuum clients on one PC just to get their pop up to about 30. The sysop and the owner did this which is a disgrace.

I think they put up strict rules (Agurus and staff) to cut down on people who come in and constantly abuse. I guess Agurus and some staff can be a bit ban happy, but I guess he must have a reason. Otherwise, if he doesn't, this is definatly abusing.

Agurus was apparently behind all this, although I don't remember if I mentioned that DC+ accused me of mass advertising, just to bring in fresh abuse?

Heh, anyway, it was just the big guys that did this.

No offense to the people that I know will read this follow-up post, but they don't teach new staff anything anyway.

I learned just about every command, up to SysOp, and how to make setts, do levels, etc., at War Era in DEV STATE in 3 days... compare that to Halo where they teach you to host.

(Musk, I promised a good follow up post - this is good)

Indeed, when I was fired, the old Staff Coord, WaRCC told me I didn't know anything. Why? (Because you can't host)

I don't understand what this big fuzz is about? The past is the past. Yes, every zones have experienced their ups and downs, but constantly reflecting on the past is just foolish. We should focus on the present and the future instead of mesmerizing over some stupid abuses that went on in the zone a year ago. The truth is this: no one is forcing you to come to Halo CTF, people play there because it's fun and a great zone to hang out. Sure, there are those who thinks halo might not be so great, well why don't you not open your big mouth and laissez-faire? Mike, you said that " none of the staff knows what they are doing in halo ctf". Well, i'm a sysop in halo and i have given my 110% to the zone. I'm currently the staff coordinator and i assure you that the halo staff are top-notch quality. Sure, they are not all good, but they are disciplined and well-trained. I'll end this post with the following quote: "If you don't like the zone, then don't play here. No one is forcing you to come play in halo. Let others enjoy the zone in peace. If you have nothing good to say, then don't say them at all."

Your right I don’t know how to host a zone, but do know how to run one, and we have NO abusive staff, like LF or those old sluts that used to staff, Halo is much better than it used to be. And hey I can’t do anything if TW players decide to advertise…

Hmm, Halo is alot better.. I've complained everday since it was up when I was staffing at Superfortress..

1. It was stealing the zones population
2. Some of the stuff was stolen
3. I didn't like their previous owner

Those were the main things I didn't like about it.. but ever since we've gotten a new owner and a different set of staff.. I think its turning out pretty cool..
we get more people everyday, the events are hosted constantly , Staff doesn't seem to have any trouble with one another, and lots of people enjoy the zone.

And if anybody doesn't like the zone, I think they can stop complaining about it and move on with their lives, Halo is a great zone to play.. and I'm not much into playing in zone's in Subspace.. but this place is actually fun.

The people who seem the have the most problems with it would be other zone owners, they continue to complain about their people leaving their zone moving to SSCC Halo CTF.. They usually end up making an excuse about it.. saying that stuff are stolen from other zones when it isn't true, Halo doesn't have one stolen thing, maby some stuff look alike.. but overall not really.. I betcha every zone thats not SSC related has SSCU Trench Wars - Tiles - Graphics - I'm not gonna say anything about events because Elim is in every damn zone.. So I suggest that you stop complaining about Halo , and get a life and complain about TW somemore like people used to always do.

IMO, staff should be trained before they are given any real power. Watching them closely as they gain experience staffing helps to ensure quality staffing. It's also important to communicate with all of the staff and make sure everyone is on the same page

One of my most famous quotes would probably be "If you do not like the zone, and you are not willing to improve it when you can, do NOT post anything bad about it" well, i guess i have been a little bit of a hypocrite.

I am going to try and talk to Agurus about possibly giving me staff cord for a while, so i can better the staff members and hopefully crack down on the violators. I will see if he is willing to give me all banning powers, with no bans made by other people. If he is willing, we can hopefully get rid of these horrid 10yrold kids.

You guys sit there and complain, but why not try and better halo? If you dont like the staff, and the way they act, get it to stop, dont just talk about it. If Agurus doesnt want help, nor will he let you help, than you are given the right to speak, but untill you have actually tried and helped, dont say anything.

Its going to take time before the staff is made better. It will not hapen overnight. Please, remember these words, "If you are not willing to improve a zone, when you think it sucks, do NOT say or post anything bad about it, till you have actually tried to help improve it"

I am not expecting anything out of this, nothing gained from me. It will not help raise my zones population, or anything, yet i am trying to improve other zones, even when i have my own. See, if we want Subspace to remain "In Business" we all have to work together, we cant have it as a competition. When people ask to use some of my things, generally i will let them, this is because i want to better Subspace. Sure, if someone is using it without permission, im going to kick them in the ass. I'm trying my best to improve Halo, as far as the actual zone we are doing great and very close to releasing a whole slew of new stuff. Our main problem may be the people, both some of the staff and players. Our mods need training and discipline and, for reasons I can't quite explain, probably the majority or our players are complete idiots. This is probably true in many other zones as well, I jsut wish they would read the rules before playing. *sigh*

Against all attempts to fix these problems, Agurus has refused to give me staff coord. He has refused that anything is wrong with teh staff, and has refused that anything will happen. Therefore, by him doing this, he has said that he does not want the problems to be fixed.

The bot plugin has gone down, and none of you seem to know how to fix it. How simple is it to go into the folder, find the dll name, type !load ____.dll, this is just one of the many reasons you need better staff. You, especially, should know what to do Agurus.

After i spoke with you, a mod then zipped a person for having anti on, understandable, but wouldnt it make more sence to do *prize -20? You staff....they need bettering....

Well its not easy to waltz into a zone and ask to be staff coord and expect a welcome party because your name is confess. Confess+, Dark Clouds+ you both can do the job, its not the staff coord that needs replacing.

What exactly you can do to magically cure our staff problem I dont know, the obvious step of firing the inactive and incompetent staff is easy. What then? conjure up some people who have never played halo(cuz i know halo's players can't do it) to moderate the zone 24/7 perfectly?

As for plugins, please, dont tell me how to load a plugin, our antiwarp checker stopped working rather randomly yesterday. I'll get around to fixing that later.

btw mods cant *prize

On a completely unrelated matter lots of people who used to hang around dissing halo are pming me quite often, and it grows as the zone's population grows, I think some peoples sweet teeth are finally noticing this pie which is looking tastier every day.

Sorry if I look like im ranting, just putting forth a point I think you should take into consideration.

I know mods cannot prize... thats why i went in and said ?help Smods, do not silence, use *prize #-20 blah blah blah. The staff coord would not have been fired. And no, i would not have just expelled the inactive staff members. I plan on firing the abusive staff, through proof. I would have only been staff coord for as long as it took, so temporary. Mabey around a month or so.

Uh, you're coming off as pretty arrogant to me Confess, maybe if you took a less... say invasive approach? Even if they are doing something that isn't perfect, you should NEVER lecture the staff of another zone, its just plain rude.

Then you expect them to just welcome you with open arms because you are telling them how much they all suck? That, because as soon as you show up all of their problems will magically disappear? While you might have good intentions, you are definately going about it the wrong way. I mean, giving a deadline?! Who do you think you are, seriously? I can understand their feelings, I wouldn't want some condescending prick telling me what to do.

On a final note, its perfectly fine to kick people who are doing something they know they shouldn't. It's their own fault for breaking the rules, no antiwarp in center is nothing extreme, its a very common rule across many zones.

Agurus said that "You will have to close youe zone" and i am not willing to do that, i am simply trying to tell him that he has work that needs to be done in the zone. Agurus does not want this problem fixed. If he did, he would have accepted the offer as it was, and not tooken it as an oppertunity to take my zone down. i came in as a friend, to help his zone. And he uses it against me? I simply am giving him a deadline to fix the problem. My offer stands as it is, untill Monday 5pm central, thats final. Dont like it? Confess, I see that wish to help(I guess) but I dont exactly see what you have to offer that will turn Halo around. I as a sysop admit yes we have a problem with mods who have no clue what they are doing. What's an easy solution? Fire them. Easy. Right? well of course, but what then. We have a great zone with lots of population, lots of cool stuff, and lots of cheaters, exploiters and what-have-you.
If you propose a solution which involves actually hiring good mods who know what they are doing, please do. That is the help we need. I dont need someone to tell me which mods need to be fired. They make that obvious enough themselves.
I also really cant tell if you are jsut using this to make yourself seem better than Halo or if you truly want to help. Posting a "Strong" message which even mocked me in particular(you may not have known it but yeah me) is not the way to help. As you have your Maxim I will tell you this that I have told others asking for any level of staff.

If you want staff show me that you can do it. Actions speak louder than words.

A good application of this would be to line up a couple of good mods and supply us(me, DC+ or Ag) with list of abusive mods and proof. Then I would defenitely endorse your ideas(and yes Agurus respects and listens to what I have to say on matters).

Alright, what irritates me Confes is that you blab on how bad my staff is, plus I don’t hire any staff that are staffing in other zones, which is some thing Halo hates, mainly becuases people don’t know how to manage their time. Also you asked for a temporarily sysop, staff coord, we don’t plan to hire you for 3 days, you screw us over by jacking our files up. Hey you’re a great guy, but what you want wont easily happen. YOu also say that my staff abuses, lots of people say that but they give no proof? IT isnt a very forcefull argument, saying my staff abuses when you have no proof to give now is it? true that the mods act stupid some time, like Hempz who was just fired, for comign in "drunk" on SS and jacking around, or like not knowing what to do, but we can't help there the best we can get who are active, you must know realiase age span of halo are a bunch of little kiddie newbs who dont know who just learned to cuss. As for you saying about that plugin, we were hacing alota shit with that and were tirng to get it fixed wondering if sum1 else had same problem, and we dont BAN people with anti in safe, just live with it in teh mean time. Halos gotten here with out much help and i know we can get farther, im not trying to flame just want to make peace and fix halo's past....

Look, i was there Ag, i saw it with my own eyes. SacTu silenced a person for using anti in center, it was understandable. As i was saying, it would have made more sence for a smod to just do *prize #-20.

Now, as for my plan.

I was planning on implimenting a bot plugin that i have had for Ghost Recon. The plugin checks to see how long the person has been on, you can also add people to a list. This helps you find out who has been in the zone a lot, and who would know what to do. This would eliminate some of the newbs that come into the zone asking for staff, because they are trying to become a mod in a zone so they can expirence it. Understandable if they did it, we all have done it. I know i have. I went into Maximum Limits without know anything at all, i just came in and said "Can i be staff"? like most people do/did. Agurus, im sure you have, im sure anyone who is a staff member/ was a staff member has done it, even Priitk.

Second, i would process the star(*) warning system that i have used in Ghost Recon.

Now, as for firing the abusers, i would simply have the person that was banned unrightfully login to a netmeeting server, share the desktop, let them login to the zone, and if someone bans them with no reason <like the guy who started this topic was> then the person would recieve a warning. The reason i would give a warning is because we all are human, we all make mistakes, so we all deserve a second chance. If the person does it again, i would ban/remove from staff.

I still have a copy of things im still working on.
Now, as for the sysop, Agurus, you of all people should know me better. If you think that i would reuin my well deserved rep just to ruin a zone like yours....i do not want to help your zone. Why in the world would i do such a thing, huh? Im not that type of person.

Back to the staff....
I would use the application plugin, eliminating some more of the newbie staff members hired... I'd have daily drills to train the staff. I'd login occassionaly under alias, and ask a question. If the staff members are smart, they will help me.

I would login under alias, cuss out people, do a whole bunch of things to get me banned, and see what they do, and how they react.

I'd put everyone on a staff channel, and when someone needs help, a staff member will say "I got this one" etc.

I'd have a couple of intense training courses too, training all of the staff members who need to be trained. Again, increasing there knowledge of what to do.

thanks but no thanks, i apreciate your offer, but i am not replacing my staff or using a teqnuie from another zone, nor i don't plan to use any other applic system, i think Halo is fine how it handels the staff and dont ASSUME that its abuse becuse some one zipped or silence someone else, you DONT know what else happned, i really dont think this topic is getting ne where now, and in conclusion i leave your request.

i really never had a problem with halo besides the staff that they used to have like lord flash cause he abused powers along with some others, other than that halo wasn't too bad after i got used to the settings

Lord Flash is gone and has been gone for quite some time. All these accusations of halo having a bad staff are all in the past. We assure you none of our current staff abuses their power to their advantage. The ones who had in the past are all axed, so there's nothing to worry about.

Since its already bumped, I'll make this note about Lord Flash, hes now netbanned for the next year, he was being quite a bother. Oh well, no more worries abotu that.
