Merry Christmas everybody!
It's still a little early hear, but Merry Christmas nevertheless!

And what will/did you get for christmas?

I already got some money and the Best Of Harald Schmidt Show DVD (a german late night show).

And I'll get an usb stick, a divx/dvd player and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown but translated to german, it's called Sakrileg (sacrilege) here.

Family guy season 3
Simpsons Season 5

I liked all Dan Brown books, but Digital Fortress was hard to like because of all the technical inaccuracies. Still ok.

Merry Christmas! Peace and goodwill towards all men! (Nothing about women, though.)

The only thing I know I'm getting is the Fender 25R Frontman amp. (I'd still be happy even if it was the only thing I'm getting!)

I only read DaVinci code, and the impression I got was that Dan Brown just... wrote too much. Way too many details all throughout the book. He kinda wrote how I speak, which is a bad thing. But, in your (plural) opinions, should I read any more?

Deception Point is a great "can't put it down" story. Politics, science, twists, and a little bit of far-fetched thrown in.

I already read Angels and Deamons, it's called "Illuminati" here in germany.
It's a great book. I really enjoyed reading it.

Try reading The Whole Shebang: A State of the Universe(s) report by Timothy Ferris.

Merry Christmas to all. May it snow where you are because, thankfully, it isn't here.

I don't know I wasn't that fond of Deception Point, maybe it was just a bad day when I read it but it kind of bored me.

Digital Fortress I will agree was nothing special I didn't really know of any innaccuracies but I guess I will have to believe you Ekted. I mean at the end when they were trying to figure out the code I had already figured it out way before they did it is sad that I could figure it out and a bunch of top notch scientists couldn't.

Pretty much everything. The way he described the unbreakable code, the way they said they added a backdoor into the encryption's SOURCE CODE that no one would notice, WATER COOLED computers, etc.

Well the water cooling I did notice but I guess I don't know enough about programming to figure out the source code stuff.
