You mean a network connection between 2 computers without a component like a hub/switch/router?

Well, if you do...

Between 2 computers (from ethernet card to ethernet card) you'd use a crossed network cable.

To connect a computer to a hub, switch or router (or whatever) you'd use straight network cables.

Or use a serial connection. icon_razz.gif That was the old way to do it, but I'm not sure if Windows offers it anymore.

You could use a cereal connection too, they are lightning fast and taste good too.

Sorry I am tired.

For a direct connection between two pcs over an ethernet card, you'd need a crossover cable.
