You mean a network connection between 2 computers without a component like a hub/switch/router?
Well, if you do...
Between 2 computers (from ethernet card to ethernet card) you'd use a crossed network cable.
To connect a computer to a hub, switch or router (or whatever) you'd use straight network cables.

Or use a serial connection. That was the old way to do it, but I'm not sure if Windows offers it anymore.

Yeah, many new phones now come with an USB 2.0 data cable...like mine. Smong - Tue Dec 07, 2004 8:46 pm Post subject:

You could use a cereal connection too, they are lightning fast and taste good too.
Sorry I am tired.

For a direct connection between two pcs over an ethernet card, you'd need a crossover cable.
