LVZ/LVL Questions - Victory Music

Ok I have searched and searched, I have found the info, and for some reason, still not working

Problem
---------
I wish to change the music that is played when a team gets all the flags.
name of the LVZ is victory.lvz

ok, so theres my CFG (check misc) and theres the .ini. When I made the lvz, I had the ini, and the wa2 in the folder with buildleve.exe, so I made the lvz all fine. I then move the lvz, ini, and the wa2 to my server folder, and make an IDENTICAL copy of the wa2 and the lvz and put it in my continuum folder..

I go into zone, login, *putfile victory.lvz, sent & recieved, logd out, logd back in, and nope, doesn't work.

now, heres a question, does the wa2 need to go in the sounds folder?
also, which to use? wa2 or wav? I know SuSE or someone will come and say wav but just making sure.
and one more thing, victoryl.wav (wa2 or watever) is the one that is played when you get all flags.

What is the MAX length of the song? I heard 4mb and I also SAW 17 seconds..?

PS I tried wav and wa2 multiple times, with multiple different songs (no words) Oh yeah, and I also ran debuild and no errors. LVZ too big? I can't attach, is that the most possible reason?

I took a look at the .ini and .cfg, both look fine to me.

Did you edit the server.cfg that is in the server folder? or one that is located somewhere else? Maybe do esc+c ingame to make sure misc:levelfiles is setup correctly, and check your ctm/zones/<zone name> folder to see if the .lvz file downloaded, it it didn't download just recycle the arena or wait for subgame to re-read the files - either way you will need to re-enter to download the victory.lvz.

You don't need to move the lvz and wav to the server/ctm folder, just the .lvz file. Also if you move/copied it to the server folder there's not much point in *putfile'ing it.

alright, I did esc + c in game and I checked and it was there, let me take a look at zones <zonename> *looks* yep, they are there.

wat next? any suggestions?

btw << does anyone know of any possible way to like take a certain section of a mp3 (or watever) and make that into a wav, cause I really don't like the starting of my song, hehe! Any cool programs out there that can *slice* up a song?

If you've already converted the mp3 to wav, you can use Sound Recorder that comes with windows to chop the begining and end off a wav file.

anyone know how to compress/make smaller an LVZ besides making the file smaller (hence victory-music).

if there isn't a way I will just make it optional
(to make optional I put a + infront of the lvz name in server.cfg right? How do my zone users get the optional file?)

There isn't really any way to make an LVZ smaller unless you want to rewrite zlib or something. (I'm assuming MGB used max compression.)

For optionality, the default is to download the optional files, but you can turn it off through Options -> Misc -> Use Optional Graphics and Sounds (or something like that). And yes, you just put a + there.

Oh, and ummm, congrats, you've been taken of my ignore list.
