LVZ/LVL Questions - More tiles Anonymous - Fri Jul 16, 2004 4:11 pm Post subject: More tiles
Is it possible to use two tilesets on a map or is the only option is to use LVZ images?

No. The tileset is (usually) embedded in the .lvl file. There's no way to use two, since the file format has no way to describe two different tilesets. You can combine tilesets, of course, so if there's just a few tiles you want, replace some unused tiles in your other tileset with those. I'm not an expert on the mechanics of SS file formats, though, so if it turns out I was just talking out of my ass, I'm sorry.

Ah true dat; 'cept I think subgame checks to make sure it's a valid map.
Ever try loading a blank map w/ default tileset, ie: a 0byte file. LOL...

Take the alphabet out of the tileset and use .lvz map objects for the text instead.
